Castellari pole saws allow high branches on fruit trees, olive trees and ornamental plants to be pruned while remaining on the ground. They are suitable for maintaining gardens, orchards, vineyards and olive groves where precise cuts are required, including in less accessible parts of the canopy. Castellari’s history began in 1976 with Giuseppe Castellari’s “Il Coltellino” shop in the heart of Imola. Over the years, the brand expanded its production to include shears with interchangeable blades, loppers, olive-harvesting tools and professional pruning equipment. In 2006, a second facility added 1,800 m² to the production site; in 2022, the company opened a new 4,000 m² registered office. This development has been supported by an in-house production process based on hot forging steel and aluminium, heat treatments, robotic drilling and sharpening.
At AgriEuro, you can select Castellari telescopic pole saws according to their main technical features, so you can identify the configuration suited to the height of the plants and the frequency of work. Pole length, blade geometry and overall weight affect tool control and cutting precision.
These configurations are intended for semi-professional and professional applications, with models suitable both for periodic pruning of a few plants and for regular work in orchards and olive groves. The choice should take into account the actual height of the branches, their diameter and the available space beneath the canopy. A longer pole increases reach but requires greater care when positioning and controlling the blade.
Castellari telescopic saws are suitable for removing dry, damaged, overlapping branches or branches located in the upper part of the canopy. The curved blade remains in contact with the branch during the pulling stroke and helps start the kerf even when working at an angle. The curved ends found on some models also help limit blade movement along the branch.
The telescopic adjustment adapts the tool to plants of different heights without requiring constant repositioning. In orchards, it aids work on inner or vertical branches; in olive groves, it allows the upper parts of the canopy to be reached; in gardens, it is useful for ornamental trees and plants growing near fences or flower beds. Before cutting, the branch drop zone must be checked and the space below kept clear.
AgriEuro offers a selection of Castellari pole saws with technical data sheets that help compare reach, weight and blade features. The available information makes it possible to assess each model according to the height of the plants and the planned pruning work.

It is used to cut branches positioned above normal working height while the operator remains on the ground. It is suitable for pruning olive trees, fruit trees and ornamental plants, as well as removing dry or damaged branches. The telescopic pole places the blade in the required position; the cut is made with steady movements, without applying sideways pressure that could bend the pole.
The length should be selected according to the actual height of the branches and the operator’s position. Using the maximum extension is not always appropriate: a partially retracted pole is more rigid and easier to control. Before purchasing, compare the minimum and maximum lengths stated in the technical specifications, adding the height at which the pole will be held to its stated reach.
A pole saw is suitable for branches that cannot be cut easily with shears or manual pole pruners. The recommended maximum diameter depends on the model, blade length, wood density and working height. For a controlled cut, consult the specifications of the individual product, avoid excessive pressure and allow the sharp teeth to penetrate the branch.
The curved blade tends to remain in contact with the branch during the pulling stroke and reduces slipping when starting the cut. This shape is useful when the saw is working above the operator’s head or at a steep angle. The curve also keeps more teeth in contact with the wood, making the stroke smoother on branches inside dense canopies.
With three-sided sharpening, each tooth has several cutting surfaces angled to sever the wood fibres as the blade moves. The teeth penetrate the branch and progressively remove material from the kerf. Combined with impulse hardening, this process keeps the blade sharp for longer; once the teeth are worn, the blade is normally replaced.
The hard chrome coating creates a corrosion-resistant surface and reduces friction between the blade and the sides of the cut. This helps the blade move through the branch and makes it easier to remove residue after work. The treatment does not remove the need for maintenance: sap, resin and moisture should be removed before storing the tool in a dry place.
Castellari PS series saws are designed for Castellari fixed and telescopic poles equipped with the corresponding round coupling. Before pairing a blade and pole, it is still advisable to check the model code and information in the technical data sheet. A correct connection must be stable, free from unusual play and firmly tightened before each pruning session.
The drop zone must be cordoned off, the specified personal protective equipment worn and work carried out from a stable position. The branch must not be directly above the operator, and the tool must be kept away from power lines, cables and obstacles. Before starting, check the blade, screws, coupling and telescopic locks. Complex cuts, very heavy branches and plants near buildings require qualified personnel.
After work, remove sawdust, sap and resin with a cloth and a cleaning product suitable for metal surfaces. The blade should then be dried thoroughly before storage. If the tool has been used on plants showing signs of disease, disinfect the blade with a suitable product, following the manufacturer’s instructions and allowing each component to dry.
The blade should be replaced when it has broken teeth, deformation, cracks or a noticeable loss of cutting performance. Other warning signs include increased effort, a tendency to deviate from the kerf and uneven cuts despite correct technique. Since impulse-hardened teeth are not normally intended for manual sharpening, fitting a new interchangeable blade restores the tool’s intended cutting condition.
